"Now you have your own idiot child to do all your smiling for you!" She had refused to even hold Hassan, and just five days later, she was gone.

Reflection on the quote:
Betrayal is shown when Sanaubar leaves her son and partner five days after her son is born. She is betraying the man she is with and her son. She will not sacrifice the fact that her son is different than others because of his cleft lip , resulting in betraying him and her partner. Loyalty On the other hand , Ali stays loyal to his son. Even though he has a cleft lip, he loves him and stays with him. This is an example of how loyalty may involve sacrifice because now that Ali is looking after Hassan without Sanaubar , he is sacrificing a lot of his time in order to stay loyal to his son. |
Reflection on the song:
This song is about embracing the things that make you different. The lyrics 'Cause, baby, you're a firework Come on, show 'em what you're worth" and "Baby, you're a firework Come on, let your colours burst" sends the message that everyone should feel important. Sanaubar did not make Hassan feel this way when she saw him which is awful. The lyrics "Do you ever feel like a plastic bag, Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?" reminds me of how Sabaubar thinks of Hassan and how that would make him feel "like a paper bag" , "wanting to start again", as in wanting to be a different person , born without a cleft lip. |
